Microsoft has released so many copilot-apps and services in the past that it is difficult to keep an eye on them all. Last year, the company announced that it would divide Copilot into an app from Windows.
This approach deleted only another one and the only reason for many Windows users to give preference to other AI-Tulas and innumerable services: the ability to control Windows features. Given, Windows-specific functionality was not impressive, but it had the ability to become a useful feature. Imagine running in a problem, telling Copilot about it, and AI is solving the problem on its own.
The new Kopilot app acts as a web-culture of AI service, which means that web service has very little encouragement to take its favor. In fact, there are good reasons for not using the app and running AI services in the browser. Content blocking is just one that comes to mind.
Copilot autostarting with Windows
Eagle-Idee Windows Detective Earth’s Phantom It turned out that the latest Copilot App Test version for internal sources has autostart functionality. This version is 1.25014.121.0.
You will remember that Microsoft took the same step in the old Kopilot for Windows. It was still set to set when Windows starts automatically, at least on some equipment.
Naturally, this means that the app is set on autostart. In other words, Microsoft wants the app to go to the launch and therefore in the background. There is a good chance that many Windows users want.
Windows users who do not want to disable autostart functionality in the following way:
- Launch the Copilot application.
- Select Settings
- Click “Auto Start on Login” and make sure the checkmark has been removed.
It takes care of autostarting behavior. Note that you can also use other means, for example, to subdue the autorun, Copilot app and any other software that is misbehaving in this way.
The functionality of the task manager is severely limited, and therefore is not a good option to control the startup item on Windows PC.
Closing word
It is a good idea to check the startup items on regular Windows devices, as it is always a chance that a developer automatically enables the autostart of the app. There is a chance, as it may be, that the Microsoft Copilot will not set the next stable version of the app in the autostart with the operating system.
