According to the Cloud Security firm Vij, Deepsek has obtained an open database, exposing sensitive user data, including chat history, API authentication key and system log. Researchers discovered the database within minutes, as it lacked any form of authentication.
The unsafe data was stored in an open-source data management system, clicks, which had more than a million logs. WIZ’s security team warned that the exposure provided full database control and could increase privileges within the internal systems of Deepsak. Wire First reported violation.
It is unclear whether unauthorized parties had accessed the exposed information before it was safe. However, WIZ researchers suggested how easily it was discovered, given that it is likely that other individuals may stumble on it. He also noted that Deepsek’s system is similar to openiI, including the format of Architecture API Keys.
The revelation came a few days after OpenIAI accused Dipsek of using his data to train the AI model, which has increased further concerns about Deepsek’s safety and moral practices. While the company has since shut down the database, the incident highlights the increasing concerns over data security and privacy in the AI industry.
Users are advised to be cautious when interacting with AI platforms, especially with vague safety practices. The situation underlines the need for strong safety measures in AI-operated services to prevent future data leaks.
