Gog has introduced a security facility to protect user accounts from being hacked. Now you can set two-factor authentication through any app on Android or iOS.
SMS-based 2FA is considered highly insecure, as it is unnecessary and can be easily obtained by danger actors, especially in sim swapping attacks. Email-based 2FA is much better because a hacker will need to get access to your account, to break anything related to email address. But there is also a problem in this method, sometimes emails can come on time, which can prevent access to account/service you were trying to sign in. This 2-Factor Authenticator apps shine, as they work offline, they are not prone to disruption, which may be associated with email services.

How to enable 2fa on your gog account
1. Go https://www.gog.com/ And sign in to your account.
2. Navigate on this page: https://www.gog.com/acccount/Settings/Security
3. Next to the option is a competent button that says “authentic app”. But it is not clicking, this is because the possibility of your account is active email-based 2FA. You have to disable this security before proceeding. To do this, you have to enter your password to confirm the action.
4. Now, click on the competent button under the “authentic app”.
5. Gog will display a QR code that you can scan with the camera of your phone. You can use any authentic app that you want, add your gog token to it. For example, you can use a bitterdon authenticator.
6. Enter the code displayed in your authentic app to confirm the action on the web page of GOG.
7. The page will display some backup code that you can use to reach your account if you lose access to your authentic app. Download the code, or write them manually, or print them and store them to a safe place.
That’s it. Your GOG account is now safe by your 2FA app.
