Microsoft today released the latest preview update for Windows 10 version 22H2. All changes of preview updates will roll for all Windows 10 devices on Tuesday in February 2025.

Microsoft confirms changes: “Now you have a new outlook for the Windows app. A new app icon appears in the apps section on the start menu near the classic Outlook. There are no changes in any settings or defaults.”
The new outlook default settings should not be modified for the Windows application. This means any app that you have installed that the email handles should be as a default handler.
Block the new approach to Windows Installation
Windows 10 administrator and users who do not want to install the new Outlook app can block installation.
It is necessary to change the Windows Registry to block the installation of the new Outlook app.
Here’s how it is done:
- Open the start menu.
- Type Regedit.exe.
- Load the registry editor.
- Confirm the safety signal.

- Right-click on Uscheduler_Oobe and choose a new> string value.
- Name it blockedoobeupdaters.
