Latest Windows 11 build offers a solution for crammed taskbars | Free Download

Microsoft replaced the taskbar in Windows 11 in many important ways. From the new concentrated default view mode to the lack of customization options such as vertical taskbar. Third-party options like Start11 or Taskbar 11, restore some functionality.

Latest Windows 11 Beta And God Makes insider. Add a new feature that users with lots of applications may seem useful.

The main objective of taskbar icon scaling is to ensure that more apps are displayed on the taskbar at any time. When you open too much app or pin a lot of apps on the Windows 11 taskbar, you get an overflow menu that acts as a secondary menu for any icon that can no longer be displayed.

One click on the icon displays the missing apps and pinns the shortcut, but is prone to visibility. Windows 11 will automatically reduce the icon on the taskbar of Windows 11, when it is getting very crowded with a pinned or open app.

In other words, the icon size becomes small so that more apps can be displayed at the same time. Some web browser support a similar feature that reduces the width of each open tab to make room for more tabs on the tab bar. Some, such as Google Chrome, go very far, however.

The icon scaling is a new default behavior. It is turned on by default, but preferences are available to return to the previous default or even enable small icons at all times.

You can reach preferences by right-clicking on empty space on the taskbar and selecting “taskbar settings” from the menu. Extend the “Taskbar Behavior” section in Window which page on Page “Show Small Taskbar button show”.

The following three options are available:

  • When the taskbar is full – This is a default value of preference. When the taskbar is about to overflow, its icons become automatically smaller to make space for more.
  • Never – This is an old default. Windows will not scale the icon on the taskbar and you will get the overflow menu immediately.
  • Always – For users who prefer small icons. This enables permanently scaled version of the icon.

Closing word

The taskbar icon scaling looks like a useful addition, especially on the small screen, eg, handheld. The ability to create an icon on the taskbar is a welcome addition, one that I am planning to enable immediately, because I like it in this way, even though I have a lot of space on the taskbar.

Now you: What is yours on new facility? Will you keep default preference or will you return to Windows in the last manner to handle the Crimped Taskbar? Feel free to leave a comment below.
