As one of the best processors for gaming, Ryzen 7 9800x3D, now is now a matter of concern after reports of failures more than 100. They are largely focused on the aerrock motherboard.
The first report of these failures appeared in November 2022, with the ongoing user response on time -time platforms such as Reddit. Many users have shared their unfortunate experiences, taking into account failures for the use of a few hours to several months. Some have also reported burn burn marks on the affected processor, further highlighted the potential issues with architecture.
A reddit user has maintained One list It refers to every failure related to specific CPU. While motherboards reported by Asrock, Asus, MSI, and Gigabyte are making bulk of events, the motherboards of Asrock have proved to be particularly problematic. Some cases are related to Ryzen 9950x3D. Especially out of 108 incidents related to 9800x3D, a shocking 82% was attributed to the hardware of ASROCK, and it has worried about the credibility of these setups to the gaming community.
The entry-level models of Asrock, such as B850M-X, X870E Taichi, are implicated, with high-ended rigs. Despite issuing new firmware claiming to address boot issues, the manufacturer has not confirmed any direct link between this update and dangerous processor failures. These failures occurred mainly in the motherboard with X870 and B850 chipsets, which are for 45% and 33% events respectively. Oddly, these chipsets are designed for high-demonstrations, strong motherboards, making all more shocking failures.
Asrock had suggested that issues related to memory could contribute to factors, as the investigation continues in the nature of failures. The company once mentioned that it found the debris in the AM5 sockets, showing that completely cleaning may have restored functionality in some examples. However, not all cases indicate it as the root cause.
120 reports may not look like a big thing, which is a greater thing compared to thousands of units of AMD sales, but it remains to be seen whether these concerns have been addressed, or if the safety of users’ investments will require further action.
