Amazon’s prime video has launched a pilot program to include Artificial Intelligence (AI) in select licensed films and television series. From Wednesday, streaming service will offer A-Assisted dubbing in English and Spanish for 12 titles that lacked earlier dubbed versions. The objective of this initiative is to comprehensize the number of audience and increase access to the global audience.
This step aligns with the growing trend among media companies to integrate AI technologies to their services. For example, Walt Disney’s ESPN Network has detected the AI application to personalize the material, completing the segments of the specific audience.
By taking advantage of AI for dubbing, the prime video wants to streamline the localization process, making it more efficient and cost effective. Traditional dubbing methods can be time -consuming and expensive, often voice actors and production teams include comprehensive coordination. AI-operated dubbing provides a scalable solution, enabling the ability to support rapid turnaround time and more languages.
However, adopting AI in dubbing also offers challenges. To ensure that AI-rich voices express appropriate emotions and the nuances are important to maintain the quality of view experience. Additionally, obtaining accurate lip synchronization is a technical barrier that developers continue to address.
As major video experiments with AI-based dubbing, the results of this pilot program can affect extensive industry practices. In this effort, success from success can cause AI to be more widely adopted in localization, eventually providing the audience a more spontaneous and personal streaming experience.
