The proton is on a role. The company released the AI Lumo adapted to its privacy last week and Now released Proton authenticator, a two-factor authentication app.
The proton authenticator is a cross-platform open source application that manages the 2FA code that supports it. Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds another layer of security to online accounts. You continue using a user name and password, or other means, but the second sign in the stage is motivated to provide a code.
Additional safety steps provide excellent protection against fishing attacks and other forms of password theft.

Proton authentic: Basics
The proton authenticator is a free app available for all major desktops and mobile operating systems. It is an open source and uses end-to-end encryption to protect the user data. In other words, the proton also cannot reach the mysteries or codes that you add to the app.
You can download a version for Windows, Linux and Mac, or mobile system for Android or iOS. The data is sinking between all connected versions, provided that you sign in with the same account credentials in each app.
Once you install the proton authentic app, you can manually add the code or import the code from another service. The app supports the following two-factor authentication services at the time of writing: 2FAS, AEGIS, Author, Bitwarden, Ente, Google Artist, Lastpass, Microsoft Authenticator, Proton Authenticator and Proton Pass.
Note that by importing you may need to export data from a supported application. If you use AEGIS, for example one of our recommended authentic apps, you are instructed to export mysteries through settings> import and export> exports. You can then import data to the proton authentic to add it.
Proton says that its authenticer keeps the user first. Its open-source nature, use of encrypted sinks, lack of advertisements or tracking, cross-platform support that extends to desktops and mobiles, and direct export options make it better than major solutions, including Google authenticity, auto or microsoft authentic.
It is certainly the case that most of the authetics lack desktop versions. Even the aesis does not offer one. Although this may not be a requirement for most internet users, having an option to install the authentic on the desktop system is a welcome additional as it removes the need to use a mobile device.
Closing word
Many proton users can start using the company’s authentic app, as they are already investing and already relying to the company with their files, data or passwords. This is a new app on the other hand, and it can caution some users.
