Apple has released an update for its Shazam app, which has enhanced its integration with both Apple music and spotify. The latest version now ensures that the song known using the music identity feature in the control center is automatically added to the “My Shazam Track” playlist in these music streaming services.
Previously, only identified tracks within the Shazam app were sinks in this playlist. With this update, the beliefs made through the control center, head and shortcut have also been included, providing more spontaneous experience for users who use these methods to identify music.
To ensure that all the lyrics already discovered have been synchronized, users are advised to legal to the “sink their songs” option and then back within the Shazam app settings. This action will recreate all previous identities for connected music service. Additionally, enabling the iCloud sink in Shazam Settings will be secured and synchronized in devices.
Shazam app is available for free at the store, and users can download Or update the latest version to take advantage of these new features.
Apple’s mood acquisition and its effect
Apple acquired Shazam for about 400 million dollars in 2018, integrating its powerful music recognition technique in the Apple Ecosystem. At that time, Shazam was one of the most popular music search apps with over one billion downloads. The acquisition was part of Apple’s strategy to enhance apple music by offering spontaneous track identification and direct streaming capabilities to users.
Since then, Apple has steadily improved the characteristics of Shazam, including deep integration with Siri and Apple Music, offline song identity, and the ability to identify songs playing through the headphones. The latest update further allows Apple’s commitment to make a major part of its music ecosystem, while still allows differences with rival services such as Spotify.
Despite the concerns of Apple’s competitive advantage, the European Commission approved the deal, saying that it would not damage competition in the streaming industry. Over the years, Apple has taken advantage of Shazam data and AI-operated music identity to increase music recommendations within Apple music, which provides more intuitive experience.
Better syncing abilities introduced in this update indicate the continuous investment of Apple in Shazam as a major component of their music and audio recognition ecosystems.
