Windows users update their application using several options in the latest version of Windows 11. Some apps come with their own updated checking, downloading and installation functionality. Others are updated through Microsoft Store or Third-party app. And then there are apps that do not support direct updates, which means that you need to download the latest version to install the previous one.
Microsoft is working on uniting the future of the application update on Windows. It launched a private preview of the Windows update orchestation platform this week.
Simply put, it is considered the idea that applications allow developers and organizations to release software updates via Windows updates. This will expand the current functionality, which mainly involves distributing updates to Windows, firmware and drivers in the user system.
Microsoft says that this method has many advantages on the current process. For users, it means a streamlined procedure to update the supported application. Benefits include intelligent installation of updates based on system load and other factors, access to a central updated history and the use of indigenous information. Developers can also avail the system and its capabilities rather than individually developed.
The new system supports MSIX/Appx and “Apps with Custom Implementation” such as Win32 apps “. In other words, most programs that users have installed on their equipment. Developers may be via Windows updated orchestation platform “Windows Runtime (WINRT) API and a set of Powershell commands”.
