February 2025 How to download and install security
Microsoft automatically installs security updates on mostly unabated Windows 10 and 11 devices. It does not occur in real time, and can be taken anywhere between minutes after release of days or even weeks depending on use.
System administrators who want to speed up installation can do this by manually searching updates. This is done in the following way.
- Open the start menu, type Windows updates, and choose the result.
- Activate the “check for updates” button. It runs a manual check for updates.
- If the update is not downloaded automatically, activate the “All download and install” button.
You can also download the update manually. Use the following link to download Windows update files directly.
