Microsoft confirmed the issue of a new Windows 11 at the end of December 2024 that prevented the establishment of any new update on the affected equipment. The issue is now marked as a solution, but Microsoft has not published a solution for the affected equipment.
The issue is on the devices that complete the following:
- The Windows 11 system was installed using media.
- The media included October 2024 or November 2024 security updates.
- Only Windows 11, version 24h2 is affected.
Installation media is often used to install Windows 11 on the new PC. The Windows 11 image is burnt in DVD or copied in USB devices, and then used for installation.
The issue occurs when Microsoft’s official Windows 11 Media Creation Tool is used, but also when a third-party solution such as roofs is used. It can also affect advanced users who have injected security updates in installation media.
Microsoft’s Work -Around
Microsoft Published A solution for this issue in December. The re -installation of Windows 11 is required on the affected devices using new installation media. According to Microsoft, the installation media that includes December 2024 or new security updates.
Microsoft writes: “To prevent this problem, do not install Windows 11, version 24h2 using media that sets up security updates on October 2024 or November 2024. If a device is unable to get further updates as a result of this problem as a result of this problem It can be removed, it can be removed, by re -installing Windows 11, using media, in which December 2024 monthly security update (released December 10, 2024) , Or are later involved. “
This is far from an ideal solution, given that affected users must repeat the entire process of installing Windows 11. Microsoft does not mention the reset functionality of Windows 11, suggesting that it cannot work to solve the problem. Restoration may cause loss of work or data on the primary division of the system.
